Role Summary: Senior Payroll Specialist (Italian Payroll Expert)


The Center of Excellence team is primarily focused on Payroll Management and as a Payroll Management Specialist within the COE your primary focus will be as part of the team responsible for the support and execution of payroll activities. The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Support the execution of transactional payroll tasks as per the standard payroll service definition (working mainly with Italian Clients)
  • Support the completion of validation reports, error logs to closure and gain an understanding on the associated controls
  • Produce standard and client specific payroll reports
  • Develop a high knowledge of NGA HR’s services: HR Administration, Talent Administration etc.
  • Validation on the accuracy of data to resolve inconsistencies
  • Answer day-to-day Payroll related questions and requests
  • Validate impacts of changes made into the system for next payroll
  • Contribute ideas on ways to resolve problems to better serve the customer and/or improve productivity
  • Participate in activities designed to improve customer satisfaction and business performance


Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience as Payroll Specialist/Senior Payroll Associate (expert in Italian Legislation, Regulations, Collective agreements)
  • A desire to improve Payroll and HR skills in an HR Outsourcing environment
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • The ability to understand external, client and internal compliance requirements
  • Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills
  • Italian native/fluent – English Intermediate
  • A desire to understand how the available tools/systems enable the delivery of service excellence and the ability to learn how to use these tools and systems effectively and consistently
  • The ability to follow NGA HR Customer Service standards
  • The ability to demonstrate excellent customer service/support skills
  • The ability to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Reasonably proficient in English language
  • Some HRIS knowledge: Workday, SAP, or PeopleSoft knowledge preferred
  • The ability to collaborate and work in a team environment, as well as, work independently and make sound decisions
